In May 2016, Paul Nash of Play2Support received a cheque on behalf of Prostate Cancer UK from John Carver, ex-Newcastle United manager and member of Close House golf club. Alongside John and Paul at the hand over on the 1st tee were BBC football pundit and ex-England international Alan Shearer, and Graham Wylie, the inspiration behind and the owner of Close House. John was inspired to ask his pals at the club to help him raise the money to support his friend and Sky Sorts commentator Jeff Stelling’s marathon walk for Prostate Cancer UK.
