'The Drama in the Academy Project was a huge success. The process of preparing the script, working together, designing characters and exploring the themes were incredibly valuable for the children chosen to take part (aged from 8-11). School staff chose not to be part of the process to allow the children to relate to other adults who had no pre-conceived ideas about the children – this was very successful and some children blossomed and grew in confidence in this different environment. The performance was of an incredibly high quality that impressed all who saw it.
