Asset Management Planning (AMP)

  • National appraiser for the DfE school building improvement programme, Building Schools for the Future (BSF), responsible for assessing local authority competence to manage suitability and net capacity assessment processes;
  • Curriculum analysis consultant for secondary schools in Leeds, Solihull, Bristol, Brighton, Kent, Hounslow, Cumbria and East Sussex;
  • Education lead for the successful BSF bid teams in South Tyneside & Gateshead, N Somerset and the Kent Academies;
  • DfE education consultant recruited to support the setting up of academies in Carlisle;
  • DDA and suitability training/surveying consultant for local authorities including Kingston-upon-Thames, Norfolk, Leeds, Essex, Kirklees, Swindon, Hounslow, West Berks, Westminster & Bexley.
  • Teaching & Learning

  • Consultant for the Specialist Schools Trust, supporting the DfE specialist schools programme;
  • Senior consultant to iLearn.To, a major eLearning provider with over 15,000 learners;
  • Consultant to NCFE, the national vocational awarding body, responsible for developing qualifications for the National Qualifications Framework;
  • Trainer/consultant for Learning for Work, the DfES national programme to develop the key skills within the work-based route.
  • Resource Development

  • Co-author of Standards Based Training and Development and Positive About Inspection published by Gower Publishing Ltd © 2000;
  • Developed the quality assurance standards and procedures for the London Learning Zone, which involved extensive consultation with FE colleges across SW London;
  • Developed the Autonomous Learning Framework, a comprehensive set of standards, guides and activities, designed to support approaches within schools and colleges that enable learners to become more autonomous.
  • EU Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP)

  • Education consultant to EU funded adult education projects including ‘Pilgrimage…from knowledge transfer to autonomous learning’, which developed YouTube based training resources, and ‘IMPACT’, which developed the key skills of low skilled workers in SMEs using an online training programme based on carrying out an initial environmental audit in their workplace. These involved working with partners from the Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Austria, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal and Bulgaria;
  • Adult education expert contracted by the EACEA with responsibility for assessing project applications and interim/final project reports/products delivered as part of the EU funded Grundtvig programme.
